Tips from our Painter: ( Chris from Greenlight Painting)
A harder wearing specifically formulated water based enamel such as Resene Kitchen & Bathroom in the wet areas is a key. It provides a long lasting wipeable surface for your wet areas. If you are repainting, sugar soap the whole room and remember not to use the bathroom for at least 5 days before and 10 days after painting to make sure the paint has enough time to cure.
Cedar has a recommended product re-coat time frame of around 2 years. So a regular maintenance program is recommended. Using Resene Timber Wash to clean the surface before re-coating freshens up the timber and removes filth and grime that accumulates over time. Then applying the product of your choice (preferably the product used before) to your building. If using woodx or drydens placing rolled up drop sheets below the wall coated for a few days will catch the oils the timber didn't absorb.
